Summary
This short campaign commercial is about the Oaky North Mine in Queensland, where 190 workers have been locked out of their workplace by mining giant Glencore. This version simulates a miner writing to his wife and family explaining that he has let them down for Christmas because he has been locked out for 150 days, “Glencore – one of the world’s richest mining companies won’t let me work. They have stolen our Christmas.” The miner reads the text over a black & white still of a little boy sitting in front of a Christmas tree with no presents, his head in his hands.
